Description

The Passage runs London's largest voluntary sector day centre for homeless people. Each day we help more than 200 homeless and vulnerable men and women.  The organisation maintains a Vincentian ethos, respecting the beliefs and cultures of all who use The Passage and work with them.

They welcome and treat clients with respect and dignity, find out what they need and want, offering professional and appropriate advice/help according to the client needs and aspirations.  Their aim is to provide homeless people with support to transform their own lives.  The Passage agrees actions plans with each client which is time limited with an ultimate aim of supporting the client out of homelessness.

We are delighted to be able to visit The Passage Day Centre at one of their Breakfast Events to meet staff, clients and volunteers.  The visit is designed to assist Rotarians and its supporters to gain an understanding of the issues faced by homeless people and the staff providing services to them.  The visit is also part of the project being jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Westminster East, The Passage and SMCF-Ethiopia which will see six homeless people take part in a life changing challenge in Ethiopia.
