My visits this month have again been very rewarding and I believe that more Rotarians should make the effort to get out and about to see how what other clubs do and where they focus their efforts.

Given my connection with Peterborough, I was pleased to visit the Rotary Club of Peterborough Minster in District 1070.  The Club remains one of the few clubs to be male only, which must bring them into conflict with the District Officers.  While I don’t sign up to the male only clubs, Peterborough Minster, from what I saw of them and their programme, are a credit to Rotary.  They also support projects in Kosovo which I always like to see.

I was given no lesser of a welcome at the Rotary Club of Paddington.  Paddington for a long time were a partner of Westminster East on past projects.  President Murray and I both feel that the time is right to think again about what we could do in partnership.

The only other club I managed to visit this month was Canary Wharf which was a club I visited last month, but such was the welcome last time, as I was in the area, I thought I’d pop in.  Again, the talk was of joint projects.

The Rotary Club of Westminster East continues to attract a high number of visitors.  However, I would like to thank Patrick Murray from the Rotary Club of Iloilo, Philippines, District 3850 for his continued support. We were very pleased to see him in July and August and look forward to seeing him again in 2011.
